......Just Ask People Who Formerly Worked for DEC or Wang or Polaroid or Bear Stearns.
... is the business name of an individually practicing consultant, Emil B. Rechsteiner. My strengths lie in technical marketing and in general management. I have many years' experience as an independent marketing/management consultant; as a CEO of a now well-known electronics company, then with around 400 employees; and as the founder/CEO of an electrical equipment manufacturer with up to 90 employees.

I Write to Find Out What I Am Thinking*
I tend to do the same. Writing disciplines one's mind, and it readily reveals weaknesses in a line of reasoning. Most projects I have completed for clients involved writing a comprehensive report that then became the blueprint for specific action such as product development or raising capital.
A good portion of my writing has involved product brochures or catalogs for transformers, uninterruptible power supplies, HID lighting ballasts, and transformer production equipment. For several years I wrote a newsletter on power protection for computers.
A further portion of my writing was business plans for presentation to banks or to venture capital sources. For Analog Devices I wrote, in cooperation with the company's attorneys, the Prospectus for the Initial Public Offering.
A still further writing endeavor was the preparation of about two dozen articles for technology-oriented magazines on subjects such as lasers, power protection for computers, and high-voltage transformers.

Acquisitions, Managing in Crises and Conflicts
I have managed several acquisitions, a divestiture, and I have negotiated with investment bankers and with "antsy" commercial bankers in times of crises
in my company and in the bankers' as well.
I have advised business partners who were at loggerheads with one another.
